Our journey didn’t start with lasers—it started with wood. Ryan, a carpenter by trade, brings years of hands-on experience, an eye for detail, and a deep respect for natural materials to every project. Inspired by his great-grandfather’s cabin built without power tools in Yosemite, Ryan envisioned a life rooted in craftsmanship. From hardwood floors to fishing carpentry, this foundation laid the groundwork for Sierra Etch. Years of working through the trades instilled in him a profound appreciation for the beauty and integrity of raw materials.

After years of building and creating, Ryan and Larissa saw an opportunity to take that foundational craftsmanship to the next level by integrating cutting-edge laser technology. Ryan's interest in laser engraving began after seeing intricate plaques from fishing events.
